Bad Girls!

Here's an idea I've had to create a set of characters based on the same body shape (similar to those cut out characters you used to be able to get with interchangeable clothing). These 3 girls form a triptych that I'm thinking of producing as a set of short run screen prints... just have to decide on the colourways!

EL TORO!

My first go at a gig poster for Liverpool Garage band EL TORO! I wanted it to have the feel of a movie poster (think I achieved it!). I've got another idea on the boil for the band which I've been sketching out (influenced by Derek Yaniger)... more to follow!

HUNTRESS Gig Poster 2

I forgot to post this yesterday... another show poster for the excellent HUNTRESS!

DESERTFEST UK

Some AMAZING bands at this year's Desertfest in London over the Easter weekend... Shame the poster for it is a bit rubbish! Still... at least it gave me the incentive to have a go at it myself!

Blood Ceremony

Inspired by a piece a friend of mine recently produced, I thought I'd put a poster together myself. Seeing as how the band aren't currently touring at the moment I've used a date from their previous UK tour in support of their most excellent album 'Living With The Ancients'. A bit different for me this one (being a photo based design) but still fun to put together.

The Fab 4

Nah... not The Beatles or Black Sabbath... not even the Monkeys... It's The Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster and a Skeleton.... Like you didn't already know!

My Sweet Valentine

He's now available on a range of T-Shirts, Posters, Cards and an amazing sticker!! Click on the redbubble icon to the right of here and take a look for yourselves!

A post Valentine's Post

I've been working on a special project lately and realized how long it had been since my 'Dirty Job' demons (if some of you can remember that far back!)... So here's a new one, that posthumously ties in with Valentine's Day (accidentally) and as a possible submission to a competition currently running on deviantART (who I must set an account up with!).

I expect you to "MIAOW" Mr Bond!

Perrywinkle the Cat... the petition for a new breed (and species) of Bond Villain starts here!!

Girls, Girls, Girls...

Well... 2 girls... alright, technically it's 1 girl!

A little bit of experimentation based on a sketch inspired by the forthcoming 'Dr Sketchy' night. I think I like the B&W one the best... but I keep changing my mind... that pink hair really does grab your attention!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'll post this illustration now, incase I forget tomorrow!! Have a great day everyone, thank you for checking my blog!

This drawing was done in preparation for a possible visit to Dr Sketchy's next month... an evening of debauched drinking and drawing!

AWOOOOO!!

My surfin' Wolfman is also now available on RedBubble as a T-Shirt and a variety of prints and cards! Go HERE and take a look if you have time!

This has been a public service announcement!

It's also a T-Shirt!!!

Tura T-Shirt available from here by those lovely people at Society6. It's a print too!!

Tura Satana

A really quick 10 minute work up here... very pleased with it! Inspired by the artwork of Derek Yaniger of late (who in turn was inspired by Jim Flora) who draws women real good!! Thinking of using this image for a band poster... maybe Liverpool's own EL TORO!

Teenage Caveman beats Gargantua!

Have been trying to get an image together for this smashing track from Zombina And The Skeletones for about 3 months before finally cobbling a visual together from a series of ideas. It's still not perfect, but I was happy enough to work it up in Illustrator so that was a sign that it was close enough! I like the framing of the image and the colour ways... the pink was a pleasant surprise as I was messing about with variations in the program, but it sits well with the greens.

In the meantime...

It's been 25 years since Hardcore heroes HELMET released their seminal 'MEANTIME' album (I remember it like it was yesterday!!) To celebrate, the band are playing a series of shows performing the entire album... it will no doubt be AWESOME!!!

Here's a poster for their UK tour, that pays tribute to the album sleeve in my own simple way!

Up from the deep!

More old sketches and new textures! 30 mins turnaround... BOOM! I am on fire tonight!!

Poison Ivy

More work ups from a recent sketch. Very happy with the speed at which I'm producing these right now. This one took 2 hours maximum, and that's pretty damn fast if you ask me! Does the speed with which I put this together devalue the image?... I wonder if it does.

Strange brew...

Another work up from a long forgotten sketch. Having fun with the textured backgrounds, they're definitely adding a new dimension to the finish of my artwork.

HANG 10

Another sketch from last year finally worked up! Pretty happy with this too if I do say so myself! Adding the texture into the backgrounds of these recent images have really added a new dimension to my work.... SWEET!

Ghost poster(s)

Yet another forgotten sketch from months ago... I put together the bottom version of poster (with his arms out) straight from the sketch, but never really liked the pose that much. I played around with it for a time then decided that the best way of depicting the arms was to... err... NOT depict the arms! Thus, the 'alternative' poster was born... and I really like this pose... it's a little 'cheeky'!

The Bride's true love...

A work up of another old sketch I found lying about (in a virtual sense that is!). Decided to set myself a 30 minute time limit on this one (just for fun)... and it came out much better than I was expecting. I think that sometimes you can get too bogged down in the details of an image and end up not having as much fun with it!

I had fun doing this one!
