Cast No Shadow

Just getting used to the control system on my Powerbook... thought I'd start with something simple... channeling the essence of Josh Agle and Belle Dee (I hope)!

Rock Chick

She digs 'Iron Maiden'.

Way out West....

Here's a work in progress for a motley bunch of wild west weirdos and their nemesis... The Unlikely Hero.

The Last Troubador...

Here's an homage to one of my heroes growing up (and still to this day) Rodney Matthews. Who always managed to create wonderful worlds of fantastical creatures... but never captured my imagination more than on Magnum's 'On a storyteller's night' album sleeve.... one of my favourite pieces EVER.

Also influenced by my current listening choice - GRAVEYARD - GRAVEYARD... bluesy/garagey/classic rock.

More sketchadoodleness...

Here's some more recent sketchiness I've been producing people.

Inspector Cumulus revisited

Wasn't happy with the previous attempt I made at interpreting Illustrator Jonathan Edwards character... so here's another go... and it's much more 'me'!

Currently listening to: Annihilator: Alice in Hell/Never Neverland (2 Disc)

Kung Fu Panda 2

Here's a colour work up of Po. Really enjoyed putting it together with the most basic shapes and lines that I could.

Good news everyone!!!

YAY! I'm going to have a double page spread of work in a new French publication in September called the 'BOOK OF CREATION'. The premier edition is a showcase for Digital Artists from around the World.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I am SOOOOOOO Excited!

Sorry... just had to tell someone!

Kung Fu Panda

Watched the splendid 'Kung Fu Panda' movie again tonight and decided to sketch out 'Po' the movie's hero. It's an awesome movie and I'm looking forward to the sequel (due next month).

War of Words... ELEVEN

Horrible horrible word... lagely due to this complete creative funk I seem to be drowning in! Here's my Valkyrie Opera Diva with a set of pipes that go all the way up to ELEVEN!

Next week... STUNNING!

The Minotaur's Riddle

The first image created on my new G4 MAC... my first ever MAC.... which my smashing wife bought for me for my birthday. In retrospect perhaps I should have done something a bit more girly... like some flowers or something?.....

It's finally time.... ROCK that is!!!

Was watching the Tenacious D movie 'Pick of Destiny' the other night and this sort of fell out of my brain!

Oh my word......

Yes... still more! The last lot of these for the moment I promise!

See... See... It wasn't just a one off!!!

Here's some more!

See.. I have been working!!!

Here's a selection of some of the doodles I've been playing about with recently. Finally got off me fat bum and scanned them in. The aim now is to start working them up digitally.

and I'm back in the game...

Here's a (posthumous) poster design using my recently posted 'Guitarenstein'. It was refreshing to do a band poster again (it's been a while) especially a Zombina one!

Caught up with my buddy Dave today and apart from putting the world to rights came away inspired to draw... as a result I've been at it for a few hours and have some sketches that I'm pretty pleased with... now I just need to stop being a lazy ass and get the scanner out!!!!

We are not alone...

Couldn't think of a witty comment for the speech bubble.. perhaps you could print out a copy and write in your own?... think of it as a gift between friends.

LOOK!!! I've done some work! HURRAH!!

Currently listening to: Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark

Barely breathing....

Just about still drawing though! The drummer (man) is Ginger Baker... or rather my interpretation of GINGER. This was skecthed for a Word of the Week (2 weeks back). The band at the bottom is REDD KROSS (back in the Phaseshifter CD days). They had a song on there called 'Huge Wonder'.. this was a sketch for another missed Word of the Week which was 'WONDER'... Dave did a drawing of Led Zepplin and Heather did a piece on Wonder Woman... strangely enough both ideas I had (but didn't do anything with)!. The other bits and bobs are typical randomness. The Octopus or ROCKTOPUS as I like to affectionately call him is a character from the stalling 'horror band' comic strip I was hoping to work on (but I'm too lazy). The UFO is just a dumb sketch and ROKKENSTEIN is just a return to a motif I used to draw on a pretty regular basis when I look back over this blog and hrough my sketchbooks...

Hope to get moving a bit now... my drawing bones are stiff.
