War of Words.. TRIANGLE (Part 1)

Well.. the end of the year is almost upon us.. I finish work for the holidays today and our internet connection is playing up at home. As a result.. this might be my last post for a short time.. but worry not.. I'll be back!! I'm posting my entry for 'Triangle' now, and I'll add Dave's at a later date. When the word came up this week I instantly thought of 'Where the wild things are' for some reason.. so this is a little homage to the 'wild rumpus'.. can you spot the triangle?

If I don't make any more posts before Christmas and the New Year celebrations, have yourselves a most excellent time, and thanks for checking by my blog this year.. come again won't you!

Black Widow.. finally!

Finally found time to finish off my Black Widow piece... and here it is!! Hope you guys like!

Remix 01 Y'all!

I love the idea of 'remixing' work.. reinterpreting someone else's art.. I thought I'd have a go.. with my own work!!

Many moons ago I did an illustration of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. This piece turned out to be the catalyst in creating 'Horror Business'.. so where better place to start, than at the beginning. I must dig out the original drawings to post at some point, but for now, here is the 2009 remix. It's funny because I can remember doing the original and it taking me blinking hours for some reason.. this little fella took about 15 minutes. Now either I've gotten pretty lazy in my approach to art, or (and I like to think it's this) I've begun to refine my style to a point that I can work much more effectively in a shorter space of time...

but then I might just be talking out my ass!

War of Words.. DANGER

Not a lot of time to think of many things this week... murderous in work at the moment!! Dave (quite rightly) plumped for a Psycho Bunny image to represent the word. I stuck to what I know and worked up 2 sketches that I'd done earlier in the week of The Punisher and Doctor Octopus, then put them together and added some inane drivel! Enjoy!

Another tough one for this week! Although I have to admit, I really like my funky spaceman entry.. it's kinda cute!

Dave (having also struggled with the word) has put another great piece together. It's fun, funny and very well put together, I'm loving the relationship between the image and text.. well done old chum!

Loads of ideas for this week's word.. and no time to pursue any of them... bugger! So I stuck to what I know (yawn!) and popped out a Darth Vader pic... after all, you can't go wrong with the big D can you?
