She loves me... she loves me not!

Not been especially prolific recently... I've been experimenting with creating images directly in Illustrator... but it's got to a point now where I actually miss drawing!!! Picked up a new sketchbook today and sketched out my entry for the last War Of Words entry 'WONDER' and for this weeks word 'GINGER'.. I just need to scan them in and work them up.

The above illustration is the first in a while that I've been 'happy' with posting from this 'sketchless' session time.. I guess it's been good though, because now I actually 'want' to draw again.... I have genuinely missed it. I'm planning on trying to get pubished over on the 'Covered' and 'Re-panelled' blogs in the near future soon... I'll keep you posted on developments.

Whenever I hear 'Puttin' on the Ritz' I immediately think of Mel Brooks fantastic 'Young Frankenstein' movie... what a great scene, watching the Monster up on the stage! God knows how I came to this drawing though!! =-)

An Inspector calls...

My rather splendid 'Inspector Cuminilus' toy (designed by the also rather spendid illustration master Jonathan Edwards) arrived the other day.. and to celebrate here's my interpretation of the Inspector himself!

Incidentally, the real thing looks waaaayyyyy better than this!

War of Words... INDIGO

It's been a while... too long in fact! We had the word 'indigo' a few weeks back (and I produced this drawing for it too!) but the Masters has been revving up to the end of the first year and our last assessment for the time being. That day was today!

In celebration of the end of year one (blimey that went quick!) here is the start of what will hopefully be a return to regular service for the War of Words... I guess we'll see next monday when the post for 'WONDER' goes up!

Ahoy there!

Here's another 'escapist' image done this afternoon (after I made the competition deadline for handing my book in!! YAYYYY!!). Just playing with shapes and seeing what happens.

I didn't have any pre-concieved idea of what image I wanted to create before starting it.. and it's really refreshing to just get on with it and not be pressured at all.
